Flint Dining Table
designed by Steven Owens
The flint Table is our quintessential refectory style table, ideally suited to a busy family home. The top is made from 3 crown cut boards of solid oak with a white oiled finish, giving a robust and honest work surface. The trestle style legs are in solid scorched oak with the key detail being the dovetail slips in the underside of the top, housed neatly into the top rebated section of the trestle leg.

Scorched Oak
The base of the flint table and bench is gently scorched to blacken the surface and raise the grain. This gives a beautiful textured and matt finish which we then seal with a light oil topcoat. This process is an ancient Japanese method of charring cedar to preserve it when used outside and is often referred to as Shou Sugi Ban or Yakisugi.
