Studio Development – Phase 2
The latest instalment on our refurbishment…!
Since moving out of the offices back in November the building works could really push on. Within a matter of days, a week tops, all the remaining demolition of existing walls etc. had been done, and the new partitioning was going up. Our electrician Eddie was installing his first fix, and as quickly as the new walls were built they were getting plastered & painted.
It’s amazing what a fresh lick of plaster and paint can do, especially the latter.
The whole space feels wonderfully light & bright, helped naturally by the additional roof lights upstairs in our studio space, and new big windows in the gallery space downstairs. We knew this would make a big improvement, but seeing the space now ahead of the final push, the light really floods in even on dull day.
It’s not just the inside that’s getting a facelift the outside is too, and not just with a fresh coat of paint!
At the front of the building, groundworks have begun where there will be some gravel beds, stone paving to the entrance way and stone sets “setting” it off. All of the above plus some thoughtfully positioned olive & bay trees will help to soften the entrance and finish it off beautifully.
In just a matter of months the end is (almost) in sight…
Until next time…
